David Mitchell: The idea for the Urban Arts Leadership Program actually came to me as I was working with another professional development program called Artist U, a program that works on strengthening individual artists, helping them get over whatever obstacles might be in their way—whether its creatively or financially or just helping them to strategize in some way that gets them to the next step in their life career.
