Linksys router says validating identity
I'm trying to eliminate the long wire from my linksys to my 360 without buying a wireless adapter first. While a very few wireless routers CAN act as a Wireless Bridge, the TEW-432BRP does not appear to one of them.
Abstract This article describes the tools used to troubleshoot a Microsoft Windows XP or Windows Server 2003-based wireless client, a wireless access point (AP), and the Internet Authentication Service (IAS) when using Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) 802.1X authentication for IEEE 802.11-based wireless connections.Since routers don't need drivers could this be possible?Would I still need to run a cable from my linksys to the new router and bridge the connection?Laptop: - Dell Latitude D610 - Windows XP Professional Desktop (hooked up to home cable internet provider): - Asus Essentio Series - Windows 7 - has Netgear wireless router to allow home wifi network I've had no problems getting my Android phone or my kids' i Pods to access the wifi service at home, so I expected to easily use my laptop on the wifi network. I haven't used my laptop in a while (and never on home wifi network, only set up a few months ago), usually stays plugged in to ethernet at work.Brought it home today, was going to use home wifi and get some work done. For background information, see Wireless LAN Technologies and Microsoft Windows.
For detailed information about a Windows-based authentication infrastructure, see Wireless Deployment Technology and Component Overview.
Find your wireless driver right click select uninstall.
Then reboot your machine upon reboot windows will auto re-install the driver for you.
Example: Trend Net's LAN IP: 192.168.10.1 DHCP server range is 192.1 to 192.1Linksys would be 192.168.10.2so within the linksys router it needs to be 192.168.10.2do I always have to re-connect it to my wireless lan when I move it? Took longer than I thought it would putting ddwrt on my wrt54G, but man it's worth it! My wireless bridge (linksys) will constantly keep a connection while on xbox live. It also says that it's "validating identity" when connecting.
right now it's on my wife's pc, but when I move it to my 360 it fails to do anything. SO much nicer than having a wire ran through our house!
I have a WRT54G V5 that handles our network, I also have a Trendnet TEW-432BRP » ··· 33156038 laying around the house.
