My computer keeps updating and restarting
Sometimes it just restarts, other times I get the "Windows has encountered a problem and needs to restart" page which I assume is similiar to a BSo D?i) The errors I have noticed are: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_Area. Sometimes my displays (3 monitors) just shut off and the power buttons start blinking as if they are not getting a signal from the tower; this is also true for both my keyboard and mouse (they are both illuminated/back lit), as their lights go out.3. I can see everything, but my mouse won't move, keyboard won't do anything, etc.
It looped like this all night long and then again was doing it this morning when I left for work.Leo says It could be a mechanical failure like a shorted on/off button that keeps turning itself back on.If that were the case, however, hibernate wouldn't work properly and Lisa says it does.:p Anyway, last night my computer automatically restarted itself in order for my latest set of Windows updates to take affect. After it restarted, it came up with the usual screen that states it is installing the updates, Step 1 of 3 and then the percentage of it being complete. If she can shut down in safe mode, then that would mean that something is running that is causing it to reboot.
It isn't the end of the world if the computer won't shut down though either. Another thing is that Windows may be installing updates because she hasn't had it online in quite awhile.
Make sure the 2 white side handles are inserted correctly on the ram as shown on the picture.
Hey Everyone, Long time observer, first time poster here at tom's hardware.
You must turn off all the power from your computer. Have your magnetic strip handy, or if you don't have a magnetic strip, touch the power supply to ground your self from any electro magnetic shock.
I recommend you unplug the power cord behind the PC. Get your q-tips and clean the Dust off your CPU fan.
First off, there are many factors of your computer restarting.
