Updating the homebrew channel
It is a channel that can load Wii homebrew applications without initially using the Twilight Hack.
After all, the warranty on your Wii is long expired, and you’re probably not doing anything with it anyway.Note that it is generally not recommended to install channels to your Wii as it could cause bricking.Note: This forwarder is newer than the old one on this tutorial and is required to properly forward to the new IOS slots. The Wii is already a pretty versatile gaming console.Out of the box you could play hundreds of virtual console games, which are exact replicas of older titles for systems like NES, Sega Genesis, Commodore 64, and more.By installing a Forwarder channel for Configurable USB Loader, you will be able to access the channel directly from the Wii Menu without going through HBC.
The forwarder will always load the latest version of Cfg Loader which is stored on your SD card or USB FAT partition, so you can update the loader without needing a new forwarder.
The ID of the new forwarder is UCXF You can make games launch a channel on exit instead of going back to the Wii Menu with a forwarder installed.
The required option to make this happen with this forwarder is: return_to_channel=UCXF Note that the write_playlog feature (to properly store your games' play times to the Wii message board) will not work properly if you use this feature (the Wii Menu must be accessed to actually write to the log).
Future Wii updates to the Wii may kill your Homebrew Channel (or even brick your Wii), so you shouldn't update your system after installing homebrew.
To prevent Nintendo from automatically updating your system, turn off Wii Connect24 (go into Options, then Wii Settings and you'll find Wii Connect24 on page 2).
To use Homebrew (home made unlicensed software) games and emulators you need to unlock your Wii using a Mod-Chip or a Homebrew Wizard tool.
